Maintenance
Agreements-Proper cleaning and service will reduce
operating costs, enhance the comfort level by maintaining
rated capacity,
and improve your system’s reliability. HVAC systems are most
likely the biggest user of energy in a single home. Cooling and
heating account for almost half of the average family’s energy
bill. Just like changing the oil in your car every 3,000 miles
getting
your HVAC equipment serviced prior to the summer and winter seasons
will help ensure the equipment is functioning properly and add
to
the energy efficiency of the unit. We check the system function,
check airflow, inspect the inside coil,
check for refrigerant leaks and recharge the system (2 lbs of freon
included in Maintenance Agreement). Clean and oil the fan motors
and service other hardware, inspect ductwork
and check total system operation. If any repairs are need our trained
service techs will give you a recomendation along with a free estimate.
Further benefits include discounts on parts and labor, 24 hour
service
and priority
service to contract holders
Programmable
Thermostat-This thermostat is smart enough to automatically
raise or lower your home temperature to save energy while you sleep
or work. Setting your thermostat back 10 degrees on a winter night
can save up to 12%; dual night and day setback can save you 22%.
It will reduce your summer fuel bills dramatically, as well. A programmable
thermostat automatically coordinates indoor climates with your daily
and weekend patterns, increasing home comfort and reducing energy
waste.
Ductwork-
The condition of your ductwork plays a mayor role in the overall
energy efficiency of your home’s comfort system. It also affects
how comfortable your home is. For example, leaky ductwork can cause
your utility bills to be 20-30% higher than they should be. Average
duct leakage is 30-40%.
Zone
Control-A properly zoned system can save 20 to 30% on energy
costs compared to a similar non-zoned system. The zoned system conditions
only those areas that require it, therefore uses less energy by
generating less heating or cooling. A zoned system is like having
a light switch to turn off the heating or air conditioning in the
rooms you are not using.
Heat
Recovery Ventilator-This device reduces indoor air pollution
in a home by exhausting stale contaminated air and introducing fresh
air from the outdoors. The heat recovery ventilator captures up
to 80% of the heat from the air being exhausted in winter and transfers
it to income fresh air, and vice versa in the summer.
High
Efficiency Air Cleaner-An air cleaner’s effectiveness
is measured by how thoroughly it captures particles and the amount
of air it can process in a given period of time. It’s only
as good as its ability to catch particles of all sizes and process
enough air to make a difference. A pleated media filter has 25 times
greater area than that of a furnace filter or electrostatic filter.
It needs to be changed less often and is capable of removing pollutants
including dust, pollens, molds, tobacco smoke, bacteria and pet
dander.
Electronic
air cleaner-An air cleaner can remove up to 95% of airborne
particles such as tobacco smoke, pollen, most bacteria and viruses,
lint, dust and animal dander. The pollutants are attracted to the
electrically charged plates until they are washed which generally
should be every two or three months.
Humidification-As
winter sets in, your heating system can begin to dry out the air
inside your home. As the air becomes dryer, it can become less comfortable.
Skin, throats, eyes and noses can become irritated. Woodwork and
furniture can begin to crack and shrink. We all know how irritating
it is to be zapped by static electricity. And if you own a computer,
a static charge can damage both hardware and software. A properly
sized humidifier allows you to be more comfortable at a lower temperature
setting so you save energy and improve comfort.
